About the FCCJBL
About the FCCJBL
The Fairfield
County CT Jewish Baseball League
is a Jewish community youth baseball league open to boys and girls Pre-K through
Grade 8 living in lower Fairfield County, Connecticut (and
Westchester County, NY).
We have 5 divisions: Intro to T-Ball; T-Ball; Minors; Majors
and our new Friendship division for children with special needs.
Intro to T-Ball is for Pre-Kindergarten kids (minimum age 4 by
April 1);
T-Ball is for Kindergarten and Grade 1;
Minors is for Grades 2 thru Grade 4;
Majors is for Grades 5 thru Grade 8;
Friendship is for Children with Special Needs affiliated with the
Friendship Circle
program ages 10 to 14.
All games are played on
Sundays at fields in Stamford, Connecticut. We play on
Sundays to allow our league's players and families to enjoy Shabbat.
Further, we play our games in the afternoons on Sundays to allow our
players participating in Sunday or Hebrew School programs to be able to
join us.
The league
has a long history as a synagogue youth baseball league in Fairfield County,
Connecticut. The league was re-organized in 2005 by League
Commissioner Seth Marlowe. Seth's efforts have been recognized in
the community with the 2006 Ben Zimbarg Outstanding Adult Leadership Award
given by United
Jewish Federation of Greater Stamford
and with a 2006 nomination for the prestigious GE
(General Electric) Gerald Phillippe Award
for Community Service.
Our kids are affiliated
with numerous Fairfield County and Westchester County Synagogues and
